Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1956. It was one of the earliest four Chinese medical colleges and universities established with the approval of the State Council under the cordial care of Zhou Enlai and the first generation of leading collectives of the Party and the State. It was approved by the former State Education Commission in 1995 and became more famous. In 2006, it was formerly the health management cadre of Sichuan Province. The Ministry College and Sichuan Institute of Reproductive Health were merged.
